How long does installation take?

Most fibreglass pool installations are completed in two to three weeks from the day the shell goes in the ground. That covers excavation and shell placement, plumbing, electrical, bond beam and coping, and getting the filtration system up and running.

The timeline can vary depending on your site conditions, council inspection scheduling, and the time of year — peak season does get busy. Your installer will walk you through a project schedule before work begins so you know exactly what to expect and when you'll be swimming.

Do I need council approval?

Yes — council approval is required in every state and territory before installation begins. Skipping it can result in fines, stop-work notices, or being required to remove the pool entirely, so it's not a step worth rushing past.

The good news is that CFPK provides the engineer-certified drawings and technical documentation most councils need as part of the application. You'll also typically need a site plan showing your pool's position relative to your home, boundaries, and underground services.

Approval timeframes vary by council — generally three to twelve weeks. If you'd prefer a faster path, a private certifier can process your permit independently of council and often turn things around more quickly.

Is installation available everywhere in Victoria?

What's included in the kit the installer works with?

Your installer works with a complete, pre-engineered CFPK pool kit — not a bare shell sourced on the fly. Here's what's in it:

Fibreglass pool shell — Australian-made, with a 35-year structural warranty and AquaGuard-X™ gelcoat finish
AstralPool filtration package — pump, sand or cartridge filter, and digital self-cleaning saltwater chlorinator, all Australian-made
Plumbing fittings — skimmer box, two filtration return jets, and hydrostatic valve
Generic engineer-certified structural drawings and excavation dig sheets for council approval
Pre-installation tip sheet and "How To" video library — 15 pages of installation guidance plus an extensive online video series
Handover kit — telescopic pole, vacuum head and hose, leaf rake, wall brush, 4-in-1 water test kit, chemical starter pack, and initial dose of pool salt (WA customers: pool salt not included due to transport restrictions)
